FIU encourages all of our students to get the COVID-19 vaccine – for you as well as for your classmates, families and the health of the greater community.
All Florida residents ages 16 and older are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The Pfizer vaccine is authorized for persons 12 years of age and older. The Moderna is authorized for persons 18 years of age and older. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is authorized for person 18 years of age and older.
Children 12 years of age and older will need to have a parent or legal guardian with them the day of their vaccination along with documents that show proof of their age such as their birth certificate or a current passport. Please find out what is required from the specific vaccination site where you have made your appointment. Families also need to fill out a screening and consent form.

After receiving the vaccine
It’s great news that the COVID-19 vaccine is now available, but we still need to remain vigilant to stay healthy. Even if you have received the vaccine, you must continue to fill out the P3 app before coming to FIU, and we recommend you continue to wear a face covering, wash your hands frequently and practice physical distancing in addition to observing safety guidelines in offices, classrooms, public spaces, housing and laboratories.
