It’s great news that the COVID-19 vaccine is now available, but we still need to remain vigilant to stay healthy. Even if you have received the vaccine, you must continue to fill out the P3 app before coming to FIU, and you must continue to wear a face covering, wash your hands frequently and practice physical distancing in addition to observing safety guidelines in offices, classrooms, public spaces, housing and laboratories.

The FAQs below contain specifics regarding FIU’s efforts to vaccinate members of the Panther community. If you have questions about whether you should take the vaccine, please consult your physician and visit the Frequently Asked Questions page of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is FIU providing the COVID-19 vaccine?

In January, we administered the first round of the vaccine to FIU employees and retirees who are 65 years of age and older and to our employees with direct patient contact. The second vaccine will be administered to these same individuals in February.

At this time, we have no more available vaccines.

  • Is FIU requiring that faculty and staff get vaccinated?

Not at this time. If there is any change in policy, we will notify faculty and staff.
